Power generation from waste heat at Evonik Industries
In January 2013, the DeVeTec waste heat power plant was commissioned at the Worms plant of Evonik Industries.
Cooling air from an acid cracking plant (for the production of sulfuric acid), which has a maximum temperature of 350°C, is available as a waste heat source:
The system was funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment as part of the Environmental Innovation Program.
